Several "members" of the Soay Sheep Breeders Cooperative met in Lake Oswego today for the annual Great Sheep Exchange. (I say "members" but, of course, there are no membership roles. Membership criteria consists primarily of the "member" saying "I like Soay, and I'm part of that group!") As always, a fun time was had by all. We took Duke with us for "Show and Tell" time, and Steve ended up taking him home to Saltmarsh Ranch. So we're one little blond ram lighter now, but it's ok; Duke is going to a great new home.
Our flock has changed composition somewhat since the last blog post. Aside from selling Duke today, we have loaned out Gazelle to Wind River Farm for the breeding season. We also brought home the Wind River K-Twins and added to our flock. So we're at 5 rams and 2 ewes now (not counting Gazelle, who will be back next summer).
