2009 Lambs -- Mostly Sold!
We only have three sheep remaining for sale:
Santiam Valley Duke is a 2-year-old ram lamb. He is scurred and light-phase (tan). He is pictured here, shedding his wool. $100. If we do not sell him this year, he will be used for breeding in the fall.
Rainbow Apple Muffin is our last remaining lamb for 2009. We lost his brother, Newton, unexpectedly last week, so if we don't sell him, we'll keep him. Muffin's price has gone up to $100.
Wind River Kilmory is a 2-year-old wether with nice horns.

Our 2009 Lambs are here!
(Updated May 17, 2009 -- most lambs are now SOLD)
All of our 2009 lambs have been born! I have pictures of most of the older ones, but not yet of some of the lambs born this week. All of our lambs this year are sired by Wind River Allard.
Pictured above, you see Rainbow Apple Pie (Allard X Crystal), the ewe lamb we have decided to keep for ourselves this year (SOLD -- Ok, we changed our minds).
The prices listed here are individual prices. Discounts can be given for groups.

At Least the Soay Don't Mind Snow
While many small things have happened on the farm over the last few months, no one thing has seemed worthy of a complete entry. So here's a little summary of what's going on at Rainbow Apple Farm!
• Sootie had twin lambs on Oct. 19. Unfortunately, she stopped nursing the ewe lamb a few weeks later, and our efforts to save the lamb failed. The ram lamb, Sherlock, is fat and happy. He is almost ready to wean.
• We put together our breeding group on November 11. Wind River Allard is our

Summer Soay Sale -- 2008
Check the Ewes section for pictures of all these sheep!
Massena's Gretta: (Pictured above) I have no pedigree or background information on this ewe. I believe she is an older sheep. She has produced absolutely stunning ram lambs two years in a row (both of which we have sold). Gretta has short horns or scurs. She has a lot of guard hair in her coat. She's got an interesting coat pattern, with patches of darker and lighter wool and the long guard hairs. $100.
Gretta is currently boarded near

(SOLD): Rainbow Apple Nano
Rainbow Apple Nano (for a pedigree, click here): Ram lamb born 04/18/2008. Ready to wean about June. If you're breeding for small size, this would be a great ram for you. He is approximately 1/2 British and 1/2 American Soay. Exact statistics are not available because some of his grandparents have incomplete breeding records, but he comes pretty close to 50/50. He is the son of our most friendly ewe, Brenda, who is herself a petite Soay sheep.
We are asking $125 for Nano.
